The Unitarians for Justice in the Middle East is an independent affiliate organization of the Unitarian Universalist Association. It was formed in 1970 through the efforts of John Nichols Booth, Ruth Heiss, and later David Van Strein. The goal of its members is to work for peace and justice in the Middle East, including a settlement that would affirm the equality, freedom and dignity of all peoples involved.

Scope and Content:

This collection consists of two series, the first of which are the records of David Van Strien and the second the records of Ruth Heiss. Each of these series chronicle the work of the UUJME, particularly in regard to the group's efforts to focus on the plight of the Palestinians in the Middle East conflict. The records include correspondence, clippings, reports and addresses.
