Organization Description:

The Connectional Table of The United Methodist Church (CT) is a dynamic and multifaceted ministry site. CT staff is prepared to work with a field education student to craft a job description that fits their skills and interests. This work can include communications in conjunction with United Methodist Communications, meeting planning and execution with United Methodist leaders around the world, research, and advocacy related to CT projects, and project management. Ministerial training at the CT would also include communicating with and learning from leaders around the world, including Bishops, United Methodist agency general secretaries, racial and ethnic caucus leaders within The UMC and more. Moreover, a field education student would experience institutional leadership in a pivotal and transitional period in The UMC. The CT expects that a divinity school student would readily engage with the CT staff and CT board. Specific expectations would include attending a weekly staff meeting, weekly supervision with a supervisor, and attending CT board and committee meetings as a class schedule would allow. A field education student would also have the opportunity to frequently contribute to our online communications in the form of reflections, devotions, or blogs on matters related to the CT’s work
