Organization Description:
The Suffolk University Interfaith Center exists to help students, faculty and staff meet their spiritual, moral and social needs. The Center offers a meditation room, as well as an 18 seat interfaith room, to members of the University's many religious traditions. The Interfaith center at Suffolk University is a campus resource that unites the Suffolk community via: Seasonal celebrations - such as Easter, Chanukah, Advent, Kwanzaa, and Passover - and for ongoing activities like Eastern meditation, worship services, Christian Bible study, Islamic daily prayers, and lectures. Anyone is welcome to start a new religious group at Suffolk or join an existing one.
Opportunities for Student Involvement:
The field education student should be able to relate to and carry out programs for students, staff, and faculty of all faiths and provide support for Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. staff, faculty and students. Principal Responsibilities: Provide support and programming with any of the following student groups: Suffolk Hillel, Newman Club, Wiccan Society, Muslim Student Organization, Protestant groups, yoga classes and oversee an Interfaith Council of student religious organizations.
