Organization Description:

Site Unavailable 2023-2024. First Parish in Cambridge is a multifaith, spirit-filled congregation devoted to love and justice. Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of Beloved Community, we are moving joyfully into a multiracial, multicultural, justice-making future. We embrace all ages, races, classes, abilities, sexual orientations, gender presentations, and ethnic and religious backgrounds. Areas for primary focus and responsibility during internship are mutually agreed upon based on the needs of the student and the church. Our interns gain broad exposure and experience in parish ministry: preaching, worship, counseling, committee work, religious education (adult and children), community outreach, etc. We prefer to fill the position in the winter to begin the following fall and prefer to take a student who has completed at least one year of theological education. We are open to either one-year full time or two-year part-time internships. Internships meet the requirements of credentialing in the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Opportunities for Student Involvement:

Students are regularly engaged in Sunday worship with primary responsibility for the service and the sermon several times a year. Students will be actively involved in children and adult religious education, pastoral counseling, rites of passage, and committee work.
