The Ministerial Union. Records, 1863-1923.

Historical Information:

The Ministerial Union was organized January 12, 1864 by Edward Everett Hale, James Freeman Clarke, and ten others in and about Boston, Mass. It was enlarged November 28, 1921 to include all Unitarian ministers of the United States and Canada. Its name was changed May 22, 1922 to the Unitarian Ministerial Union.

The Union for Ministerial Work and Help was organized March 15, 1869. It ceased to exist in 1870 and was probably absorbed by the Ministerial Union which changed its constitution that year to include some of the functions carried out by the Union.
