Topic for 2010-11: Boundaries and Identities. Readings of Jewish texts, ancient to modern, that deal with the question of the Other and the Self: what is the boundary between Jews and non-Jews, and between Judaism and non-Judaism? Note: Reading knowledge of Hebrew required; permission of the instructor required. Topic for 2014-15 to be determined.
