Stephanie A. Paulsell
This course will explore the points of intersection between intellectual work and spiritual practice, between the practical arts of ministry and academic study, and between the contemplative and active dimensions of the vocations of ministers, teachers and scholars. Special attention will be given to reading, writing, teaching, learning, and interpretation as spiritually formative practices. Students who wish to explore the place of study in the work of the minister and those who wish to explore the spiritual dimension of the work of the teacher and scholar are all welcome. The format of the class will be a combination of lecture and discussion, and students will be required to write three papers over the course of the term.
Enrollment Limited: Limited to 15 students. Instructor's permission required.
