Matthew Lawrence Potts
This course will consider the relationship between the doctrines of revelation and incarnation through a reading of some studies in the theory of narrative and in Christology. The course aims to examine what it might mean for God to be revealed in the man Jesus, who himself will be revealed through stories and in signs (spoken, written, sacramental, etc.). Readings will include texts in contemporary literary and narrative theory, as well as theological readings in Barth, Frei, Milbank, Ward, and Williams, among others.
